About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our team as a key member of the Procurement function within our Power Transmission & Distribution Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead and develop an assigned Project's strategic Procurement journey, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
  • To lead and develop direct reports, including Buyers and Junior Buyers, who work on the assigned Project.
  • To update and manage Procurement Strategies for the Overhead Line projects as part of the overall Scotland Power T&D business.
  • To create, update and manage Procurement Schedules for the Scotland Overhead Line business on a day-to-day basis.
  • Manage key supply chain risks and conduct supplier evaluations for designated procurement exercises.
  • To prepare orders in accordance with BB Power T&D procurement governance where required.
  • To establish performance-led supplier relationships, focusing on value for money, service & product quality, and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage.
  • To collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as the Category, Finance, Operations and Commercial teams, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of procurement processes within a Utilities or Construction-related environment, including working with both materials suppliers and subcontractors.
  • NEC Subcontract and Commercial process knowledge, including Legal and Regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong commercial awareness, a measured approach to decision making, and the ability to ensure best value procurement.
