Exciting Opportunity for Salaried GPs in Beautiful Cumbria

We are seeking two enthusiastic salaried GPs to join our team for 3-4 sessions each, per week, in our small semi-rural GP practice located in the heart of Cumbria.

About Our Practice

We operate a doctor-first triage system, ensuring efficient and patient-centred care. Our practice is committed to providing high-quality care and is eager to contribute to a thriving practice.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMC contract, additional, and enhanced services contracts along with agreed non-NHS work (medicals, reports etc.).
  • Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, and dealing with correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols including providing health education.
  • Complete referrals where appropriate including for any suggested diagnostic testing and report on results to patients as required.
Person Specification
  • MBChB
  • MRCGP
  • General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Must possess the right to work in the UK and be on the NHS Performer's List
  • A willingness to supervise and mentor other clinical staff in-person is an essential attribute for this role.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Experience of working in Primary Care (Post Qualification experience not essential)
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & oral)
  • Clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of a GP
  • Effective time management (planning and organisation)
  • Problem solving
  • Experience with audits
  • Ability to follow clinical guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Experience with clinical risk management

  • Positive attitude; self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Willingness to learn new skills
