HGV Technician Job Description

Kemp Recruitment is seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join our client's purpose-built maintenance facility in Heathfield, Devon. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair on a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Perform general servicing and pre-planned maintenance to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and meet regulatory standards.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance as required to minimize downtime and optimize vehicle performance.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure they meet presentation standards.
  • Correct running defects and ensure vehicles are safe to operate.

Requirements:

  • Be a qualified HGV Technician with City & Guilds / NVQ qualifications or time-served experience.
  • Have the ability to undertake all aspects of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Auto electrical, welding, and tail lift maintenance experience is beneficial but not essential.
