Job Title: SEN Class Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Class Teacher to join our team at Polaris Education. As a SEN Class Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive learning environment for our pupils with complex SEMH needs.

About Our School

Our school is part of the Polaris Community, a network of six SEN Schools across the UK that work together to provide a tailored education for each pupil. We pride ourselves on our commitment to improving the lives of young people and have been rated as Good or Outstanding by Ofsted in % of our inspected services.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum, meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
  • Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
  • Report on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaise with other School staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
Requirements
  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Have a strong basic education to degree level.
  • Previous successful teaching experience.
  • Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting.
  • Experience of behaviour management and techniques.
  • Committed to professional development and willing to learn.
  • Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
