Job Title: Design Team Manager

We are seeking an experienced Design Team Manager to join our team at Northern Powergrid. As a key member of our Connections Design Team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our electricity distribution network and contributing to our mission of achieving net zero.

About the Role:

  • Manage a team of designers to deliver high-quality EHV design solutions for our customers
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure consistent decision-making and adherence to policy and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with other business units to develop and implement innovative solutions for our customers
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to design policy and business processes
  • Mentor staff to develop well-rounded professional engineers
  • Represent Northern Powergrid on industry working groups
  • Maintain the well-being of a dispersed team of professional engineers

  • A competitive salary of £65,806 to £77,418 (dependent on experience)

Requirements:

  • Ability to manage small teams of professional engineers
  • Understanding of power system design and operation
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment
  • Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer status is desirable
  • Driving licence
