Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Category Management Specialist to join our Medical Affairs R&D Procurement Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing category strategies, contracting for master/service agreements, and managing supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies to maximize supplier leverage and reduce costs
- Contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance
- Manage and support Global Medical categories
- Develop strategies together with Global Medical stakeholders
- Establish strong partnerships with Business Owners and Suppliers
- Proactively liaise with functional groups to determine scope of category services and suitability of suppliers
- Implement and support procurement strategies to maximize supplier leverage
- Gain significant external supplier knowledge
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce non-value added work
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in procurement category management
- Proven negotiations and contract management skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- English proficiency (written and oral)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience of Medical Communications and/or Marketing Procurement
- Experience of procurement lifecycle management systems
- Experience of effective Supplier Relationship Management
- Experience of running international sourcing processes
