Carrington West is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Reading. This is a 12-month contract opportunity to work on major projects in the UK's nuclear and defence sector.

**Job Summary:**

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to deliver electrical designs for the facility design authority and meet performance standards. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and be able to work effectively in a highly regulated environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Deliver electrical designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
* Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
* Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.

**Requirements:**

* ONC / OND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
* HNC / HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
* Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to electrical engineering.
* Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications.
* Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and / or high hazard facilities.
* Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
