POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Oversee all facets of logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management, to ensure timely deliveries to our clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise all logistics staff across various shifts and manage key account shipments from multiple locations.
  • Ensure that all outgoing shipments are dispatched punctually, accurately, and with complete documentation.
  • Verify, receive, and organize all incoming goods promptly.
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers, Production Managers, and Quality Managers to stay informed about upcoming shipping requirements, special orders, or seasonal demands that may necessitate additional resources.
  • Maintain responsibility for all warehouse inventory, ensuring acceptable accuracy levels through regular physical counts.
  • Train all logistics personnel on safe forklift operation and general warehouse safety protocols.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the inventory management system QAD and other relevant software utilized in logistics operations.
  • Manage third-party logistics shipments to clients and track loads as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in logistics or warehousing.
  • On-the-job training will be provided.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge acquired through on-the-job training regarding company products, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in operating various equipment necessary for the role.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Capability to manage personnel with diverse skills and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of company and client information.
  • Adherence to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, and work instructions, including but not limited to: company policies, customer-specific policies, ISO standards, GMPs, USDA regulations, and food safety protocols.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read documents, printouts, and computer screens.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Capability to reach, touch, and grasp objects.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb, stoop, kneel, lift, pull, and push as needed.
  • Conduct oneself safely to prevent accidents in the workplace.
  • Ability to work in various environments based on the location and nature of products.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimal travel (0-25%) may be required to support business operations.
