Job Description

UK Atomic Energy Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a pivotal role in planning and development of the build environment and site characterisation of the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the project manager and overall planning for work on site.
  • Manage smaller site-based projects and be a key liaison across site and between integrated project teams.
  • Work closely with the site ops and facilities teams.
  • Schedule work on site and update the plan.
  • Responsible for producing the weekly report and programme board report content.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of detailed project plans and schedules.

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in engineering, science, construction/property, or business change related discipline.
  • Experience in a fast-paced complex environment, ideally with some event or construction experience.
  • Strong technical skills with a focus on data management and optimization.
  • IT literate, fluent in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to generate and analyze reports to support decision-making.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Programme or Project Management qualifications attained or working towards.
  • Experience in managing and optimizing digital platforms, preferably in a project management environment.
  • Background in engineering, construction, or a related field.
  • Experience in the energy sector, particularly in fusion energy projects.
  • Familiarity with working on large-scale projects or events.
  • Demonstrated solo-working and team-building skills.
