About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at The Aurora Group. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing individualized communication and dysphagia support to our specialist population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and prioritize a caseload of students with complex communication, swallowing, and feeding needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide individualized therapy programs to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that prioritize communication and dysphagia support.
  • Provide training and support to staff on Total Communication practice and eating and drinking support.
  • Supervise and line manage speech and language therapy assistants to ensure high-quality support to students.
  • Stay up-to-date with professional guidelines and best practices in speech and language therapy, and apply this knowledge to inform practice.
Requirements
  • Speech and Language Therapy degree at graduate or masters level.
  • Certificate to practice Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Registered member of RCSLT and HCPC.
  • Post-graduate dysphagia training and competencies at Level C of RCSLT Eating, Drinking and Swallowing Competency Framework (EDSCF).
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
