For over three decades, Rebellion has been at the forefront of video game development across various studios. We are seeking a Senior Visual Effects Supervisor to lead our dedicated VFX team on Project Archipelago, an innovative co-op strategy shooter currently in development.
The VFX team is tasked with crafting all visual effects for Rebellion's titles, encompassing particle effects, screen post-processing, material effects, mesh destruction, and UI effects, all developed using our proprietary engine, Asura.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in establishing project-specific processes and delivering industry-leading VFX for new titles, with significant input into the construction and pipeline requirements.
This position is ideal for individuals eager to provide strong leadership and mentorship, fostering the skills and career growth of team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of high-quality VFX tasks.
- Organize and produce VFX project documentation.
- Develop key VFX concepts to communicate the visual direction of the game.
- Build a comprehensive library of assets for team utilization.
- Create benchmark VFX assets with detailed documentation for team guidance.
- Mentor new team members for rapid onboarding.
- Maintain high team morale and serve as a role model for all team members.
Essential Qualifications
- Proficient in one or more of the following tools:
3D Studio Max
Maya
Blender
VFX tools (Unreal/Unity/Proprietary)
Photoshop
Simulation software (EmberGen, Houdini, Cinema 4D, etc.)
After Effects
Confluence document editing
Deep understanding of hardware limitations to minimize optimization needs later in projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.Expertise in creating real-time VFX assets and a strong grasp of VFX shaders and their corresponding maps.A research-oriented mindset, staying updated on new technologies and processes, with a penchant for innovation.Solid knowledge of real-world pyrotechnics and natural phenomena, with a keen sense of weight, timing, and scale.Benefits
