Our client, a leading company in the industry, is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in driving product development and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:- Product Development: Lead the engineering department in creating new designs using 3D CAD tools to support New Product Development programs.
- Design Modification: Modify existing designs to meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Design Verification: Support the technical department with design verification information and compilation of product specification sheets.
- Production Drawings: Develop production drawings and bills of materials accurately and promptly, including BOMs for new designs to enable effective procurement and material management.
- Design Briefs: Liaise with sales and commercial teams to develop appropriate design briefs and support large proposal activity.
- Design Support: Support production with new initiatives requiring design support, such as jig design.
- Process Improvement: Support the development of 'best practice' in the department, working to streamline processes.
- Team Management: Develop KPIs and personal performance plans for the team.
- Customer Liaison: Liaise with customers or commercial teams as required with regards to drawings and approvals.
- Technical Experience: Experience in a technical design role within a manufacturing environment.
- Design Software: Proficient with 3D design software.
- Team Management: Previous experience managing design teams.
- Design Knowledge: Understanding of design against specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Passionate about creative problem-solving.
- Industry Knowledge: A background in assembly, fabrication, modular, caravan, windows and doors, holiday home, construction, or mechanical industries would be advantageous.
