About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nursery Support Worker to join our team at Buckinghamshire Council. As a key member of our Early Years department, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education and care to our young children.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Early Years Teacher in the running of the Early Years department
  • Act as a key worker for particular groups of children as assigned by the Early Years Teacher
  • Complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities under an agreed system of supervision
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities suitable for Early Years age children as individuals or groups
  • Observe, assess, record, and report on children's achievement and development, including meetings with parents

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or in Childcare
  • English and maths at GCSE level or equivalent
  • Experience of working in nurseries or schools
  • Experience of effectively managing pupil behaviour
  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs
