About the Role

As a Communications Support Officer, you will play a vital role in shaping the communications strategy of our client, a leading Christian organisation that utilises technology to reach isolated communities around the world.

Working in a hybrid capacity, you will be based in Kent, attending the office two days a week and working from the operations centre one day a week, with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining two days.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and innovative individual with social media skills to join our client's committed organisation.

You will have the chance to develop your communications career, learning all there is to know and honing your communications skillset in a wide range of areas, working alongside a fantastic and creative team in this developmental role.

As a Communications Support Officer, you will be responsible for assisting the Production Manager with mailing specifications, collating internal information, creating purchase orders, and undertaking administration.

You will also support the Media Manager by arranging regional coverage for overseas staff in the UK, and provide administrative, planning, and organisational support to the Head of Communications.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and curating the archive of documents
  • Collecting and storing data processing consent forms
  • Contributing to digital comms, including website content and social media
  • Assisting in creating monthly print and digital communication documents
  • Monitoring staff blogs and external websites for news and research
  • Uploading and removing media assets, supporting staff in using the media library, and seeking to improve it

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A degree-level qualification or experience of working in an office environment gained through direct work experience or work placements
  • Experience of team working
  • Proficiency in social media
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft applications, including Excel
  • The ability to communicate positively, assertively, and sensitively within a cross-functional and multi-cultural team environment – internally and externally
  • An efficient and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and flexibility to respond quickly to changing or competing priorities
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail
