Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

Job Summary:

Procter and Street is partnering with a well-established and expanding North-West based Civils company operating in the Highway Maintenance sector. Our client is a leading provider of high-quality services, with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional results.

The Role:

As a subject matter expert, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to advise and improve H&S Management Systems and ensure a safe working environment for all employees on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance and company standards are adhered to.
  2. Provide competent advice on current legislation, policy, and procedures to key stakeholders within the business.
  3. Advise and coach managers across the business and promote a Health and Safety culture ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
  4. Develop Risk and Method Statements as necessary and in line with legislation for site operations.
  5. Prepare and communicate health and safety reports to key stakeholders.
  6. Attend internal and client meetings advising on health and safety matters.
  7. Investigate and report on incidents whilst identifying root cause analysis and course correction where necessary.

Requirements:

  1. NEBOSH Construction/General certificate
  2. Working knowledge of ISO standards
  3. Strong technical knowledge of CDM and relevant health and safety legislation
  4. Civils background is highly desirable
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with proven experience of engaging with clients, contractors, and regulators
  6. Driven individual with strong leadership and influencing skills
