About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Communications and Engagement to join our senior leadership team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a vital role in shaping and delivering our communication strategies, both internally and externally.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and be accountable for the communications function, providing professional advice, expertise, and strategic leadership on all aspects of communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and implement effective communication and campaign strategies that support the delivery of our Trust's strategic agenda.
- Oversee the creation of inspiring and creative campaign content that maximises digital opportunities.
- Contribute to corporate decision making and strategic development at a senior level.

We operate from three main hospitals, providing a range of General Hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and Consultant-led services. Our hospitals are equipped with the latest technology and staffed by highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
Person Specification
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience.
- Specialist communications qualification or equivalent experience and knowledge.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Experience at a senior level in communications/media in an NHS setting.
- Experience of devising and implementing effective communications and engagement strategies, including social media.
