Position Overview

Role: Generator Maintenance Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and be responsible for the upkeep, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of various diesel generator systems and related apparatus. While the majority of your work will take place at client locations, there may be occasions where tasks are performed at our main office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), diagnostics, testing, and corrective actions on Diesel/Bio Diesel Generators.
  • Conducting site assessments and producing precise and timely documentation.
  • Forecasting spare parts needs for scheduled and anticipated projects.
  • Engaging with clients to ensure complete satisfaction with services rendered.
  • Assisting with operational duties such as reporting, quotations, progress updates, and customer inquiries.
  • Executing generator load tests and fuel purification processes.
  • Installing and configuring remote monitoring systems for generators.
  • Utilizing thermal imaging technology for fault diagnostics.
  • Commissioning and setting up generators.

Required Skills:

Essential:

  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts.
  • A commitment to health and safety, maintaining high standards to work in an organized and systematic manner.
  • Providing maintenance services in accordance with the engineer's on-call schedule.
  • Willingness to adapt to varying work hours.
  • Comfortable with extensive travel and occasional overnight stays, with minimal weekend commitments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to collaborate effectively within a customer-oriented, motivated, and disciplined team.
  • Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and personal presentation.
  • Exhibiting a positive attitude and eagerness to acquire new skills.

Desirable:

  • Possession of a Safety passport/CSCS card.
  • Ownership of a personal electrical and mechanical toolkit.
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring regulations.
  • A proven track record in Diesel Engines/Generators.
