Job Description

Atlas Elektronik is seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate customer requirements into vessel specifications and design particulars.
  • Apply relevant Classification Society Rules, Industry Regulations, and Legal requirements.
  • Review preliminary designs arrangements.
  • Conduct hull resistance predictions and propulsion performance estimates.
  • Manage weights & centres, and general stability information.
  • Lead discrete design tasks in relation to current projects as directed by project Design Authority.
  • Support Product Managers with collating information for product specifications.
  • Work with Design Authorities and Product Managers to develop and maintain product roadmaps.
  • Support our Sales Team during bidding activities for future project opportunities.
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level in Naval Architecture / Small Craft Design.
  • Strong knowledge of Small Craft Design Standards (IMO, MCA, ISO, DefStan, LR, DNV Classification Society Rules).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage personal workloads.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Proven experience of composite vessel design work.
  • Proven experience and responsibility for whole vessel designs.
