Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Coordinator to become a vital part of our growing team at Fire Design Solutions. The selected candidate will oversee the comprehensive execution of Smoke Ventilation and Fire Alarm Systems projects. A solid background in the industry is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and execute projects as assigned, ensuring adherence to specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
  2. Foster positive working relationships with clients to facilitate project completion and encourage future collaborations.
  3. Manage all technical components of the project, ensuring compliance with specifications and current regulations, particularly concerning Health & Safety and Public Safety. Prepare necessary method statements and Risk Assessments for each project.
  4. Conduct inspections and manage all aspects of installation work, ensuring quality and performance standards are met by both FDS operatives and subcontractors.
  5. Act in the best interests of Fire Design Solutions, safeguarding all contractual and commercial relationships with clients and suppliers.
  6. Handle all financial matters related to assigned projects, including procurement, invoicing, and assisting with debt recovery as necessary.
  7. Adhere to established processes as outlined in the FDS quality manual, providing accurate reports on the status of all designated projects through the contract reporting system and schedules.
  8. Perform a final review after commissioning to confirm compliance with specifications and design requirements, signing off as appropriate.
  9. Ensure that all Operations & Maintenance information and certifications for installed life safety systems are prepared accurately and distributed promptly.
  10. Represent the interests of the company at all times.
  11. Prior experience in the Fire Industry is essential, with a preference for those familiar with Smoke Venting installations.

  • Proven experience in a similar role or related field.
  • A collaborative team player willing to go above and beyond for clients and colleagues.
  • Self-driven with a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • A valid UK driving license is required.
