Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior EC&I Engineer to join our team. This role is essential for the delivery of Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation design and engineering for various systems.
Location: This position is based at the Sellafield site in Cumbria.
Contract Duration: This is a long-term contract opportunity.
Compensation: The rate is negotiable and falls within the Inside IR35 guidelines.
Industry Focus: The role is situated within the Nuclear sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production of design documentation and ensure quality by reviewing the work of fellow engineers and designers.
- Coordinate with construction teams to address Technical Queries (TQ's), Project Procedures (PP's), and any necessary concessions.
- Work closely with construction and commissioning teams to manage Field Observation Reports (FOB's) and defect notifications.
- Act as a design representative during plant inspections, walk-downs, and snagging processes.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification is required.
- A degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven experience in delivering nuclear EC&I design in a comparable role or environment.
- Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- Experience in leading engineering packages and familiarity with EC&I deliverables.
- Ability to produce high-quality written work, including technical specifications and reports.
- Understanding of applicable standards and practices with a pragmatic approach.
- Experience in evaluating design to ensure its suitability and compliance with design processes.
- Experience collaborating with client organizations to enhance design assurance.
- Capability to lead and facilitate meetings effectively.
Technical Proficiencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Teams, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, PDMS viewer, and Aveva.
