We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Targeted Youth Adviser to lead our team of youth advisers in delivering high-quality support to young people in Essex. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing targeted youth services that address the specific needs of young people, including those who are disadvantaged or at risk.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of the issues affecting young people, including barriers to education, training, and employment. You will have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to drive a highly performing and motivated team to achieve strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement targeted youth services that address the specific needs of young people, including those who are disadvantaged or at risk.
- Lead a team of youth advisers to deliver high-quality support to young people, including one-to-one and group work.
- Work collaboratively with senior school-based staff, social care, SEND, Youth Offending Service, Housing, and commercial bodies to influence the type of interventions delivered to provide wider support to young people.
- Advocate with parents/carers and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, colleges, and employers, to promote the services provided by the Targeted Youth Service.
- Educated to degree level and/or possess a Level 6 IAG qualification, Dip CG, QCG, or NVQ 6 LDDS, or equivalent by experience.
- Proven track record of managing staff and implementing external funded contracts.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to drive a highly performing and motivated team to achieve strategic objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relate to staff, partner agencies, and young people in a purposeful and responsive manner.
- Flexible approach, with excellent time management skills and the ability to work creatively to respond to staff and young people's needs.
