Job Summary
We're seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Health and Safety team. As a Senior Consultant, you'll be responsible for delivering Health and Safety consultancy services to existing and new clients. You'll work closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Health and Safety consultancy services to clients, including risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety plans.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients to ensure consistent delivery of Health and Safety solutions.
- Provide expert advice and act as Principal Designer to help clients manage and understand their legal responsibilities, in accordance with CDM regulations.
- Establish positive relations with clients to gain confidence and become a trusted advocate.
- Represent Turner & Townsend in a professional and diligent manner, including meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients in a timely manner.
- Manage all commissions, where responsibility is assigned, to ensure both client's expectations / scope of service and the requirements of Turner & Townsend's business management system are effectively discharged.
- Undertake relevant and suitable audits, as per contract requirements.
- Secure new opportunities for Health & Safety and the wider Turner & Townsend business.
- Efficient management of the region in accordance with the Turner & Townsend business financial management systems and set KPI.
- Liaise with all members of the H/S Team as necessary to ensure consistency of service delivery and to identify opportunities for developing the quality and profitability of the department.
- Compile and create relevant pre-construction information and relevant H&S files.
- Act as a Principal Designer and help discharge relevant statutory duties for all parties.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - essential.
- Ability to effectively plan and organise own workload to meet deadlines - essential.
- Good IT skills to generate reports and documents - essential.
- Solutions driven – essential.
- Creative thinker, desirable.
- Excellent client empathy – essential.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in construction and asset related health, safety, and well-being management.
- Experience of a diverse range of industry sectors desired, but expertise in the infrastructure sector and proven ability to meet client's needs in that sector would be an advantage.
- Team and business management experience.
- Acting as a focal point as Principal Designer.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate - Essential.
- Membership of APS - Essential.
- Full UK driving licence - Essential.
- Degree level education - Desired.
- NEBOSH Diploma Level (or equivalent) - Desired.
- CMIOSH or equivalent – Desired.
