Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled and reactive service work, audits, and installations on packaging machinery.
  • Conduct detailed audits of production lines, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting upgrades.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on-site, utilizing expertise in PLC interrogation and multi-skilled engineering.
  • Provide expert technical support to clients, running trials, optimizing equipment setups, and improving overall equipment effectiveness using best practice and company SOPs.
  • Prepare accurate, timely reports and present findings to clients, outlining recommended improvements and setting up agreed-upon upgrade timelines.
  • Respond to paid customer callouts to diagnose, identify parts, and repair machinery efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Multi-skilled expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering, with hands-on experience in a field service role.
  • Formal qualification in Engineering (e.g., HNC, HND, or equivalent).
  • Ability to interrogate and troubleshoot PLC systems as part of diagnostic and repair processes.
  • Previous experience within the packaging industry or a related field is highly beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach and ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively within the UK and to Europe when needed, with a full driving license and no more than 6 points.
