Job Title: Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Summary:

The ARM is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy and planning for the Integrated Care Board (ICB). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the financial sustainability of the ICB, meeting the targets set by NHS England and NHS Improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver long-term financial strategies that reflect and integrate the objectives of all partner organisations within the Integrated Care System (ICS).
  2. Lead the financial strategy to promote transformational changes, improving health outcomes and reducing inequalities across the ICS.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders across public health, primary care, local government, and the community to achieve transformational improvements in population health.
  4. Develop governance structures and risk-sharing mechanisms to ensure system financial balance.
  5. Be accountable for developing a financially sustainable approach, leveraging data, and benchmarking to maximise impact.

Requirements:

  1. A qualified accountant with extensive financial leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  2. Proven track record in developing and delivering strategic financial plans within a large, complex organisation.
  3. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to influence and drive system-wide financial strategies.
  4. Experience managing financial risks, governance, and resource allocation within an Integrated Care System.

Working Arrangements:

The role is based in Derby and requires a hybrid working model with a mix of remote and on-site working. The successful candidate will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week with flexible working arrangements.

Salary:

The salary for this role is £780 per day, paid through an umbrella company, and is subject to IR35 rules.
