About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Teachers and SENCOs: Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to understand the specific needs of the student and develop a comprehensive support plan.
  • Implement Personalised Learning Plans: Adapt and implement educational plans to support the student's individual learning requirements, ensuring they receive the best possible support.
  • Provide One-on-One Support: Offer one-on-one assistance to the student during classroom activities and lessons, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Develop strong relationships with the student, promoting their well-being and engagement, and supporting their emotional and social development.
  • Behaviour Management: Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies tailored to the student's needs, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with Parents and Professionals: Work closely with parents and other professionals to ensure a holistic support system, providing a seamless transition between home and school.
  • Contribute to a Positive School Culture: Support the overall positive and inclusive atmosphere of the school, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially in providing 1:1 support to students with SEN, is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience and Adaptability: Demonstrate patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting individual student success.
  • Initiative and Collaboration: Show initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team, contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.
