Early Years Group Leader

Barracudas Activity Day Camps is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Group Leader to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality childcare and educational experiences to children aged 4-11 years old.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement the Early Years Foundation Stages to ensure a safe and engaging environment for children.
- Set up and maintain a suitable base room area, ensuring it is tidy and equipment is stored properly.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure children's safety and well-being.
- Deliver activity sessions as per the prepared timetable, working with other staff members to ensure a varied and engaging program.
- Be the children's Key Worker, managing their experiences and exchanging relevant information with parents.
- Provide active supervision and attention to children throughout the day, including breaks and lunchtimes.
- Plan and deliver activities that are age-appropriate and meet the needs of children in your care.
- Encourage maximum participation and follow OFSTED guidelines.
- Get to know children as individuals, incorporating their interests into their day.
- Take responsibility for general welfare and safeguarding.
- Ensure the safe use of equipment and facilitate children's development through Explore and Play sessions.
- Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification.
- Knowledge and experience within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Aged 18 or over by the start date of your contract.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Provide satisfactory professional/academic references.
- Enthusiastic, caring, and organised with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable challenges in a childcare setting.
- Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
- Complete Online Training annually.
- Attend Induction Training Day.
- Assist with pack up at the end of camp.
- Ensure the company fulfils all Health and Safety obligations.
- Deliver activities that are appropriate for children in your care.
- Encourage children to participate in new activities and follow the activity program.
- Ensure children behave safely and respect their individual needs.
- Follow camp systems, including registration and collection procedures, Health and Safety systems, and guidelines on good practice in child welfare.
- Be a positive role model, promoting a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene precautions.
- Report any concerns regarding Child Protection to Senior Team or a Designated Person.
- Make reasonable adjustments to accommodate children with additional needs or medical conditions.
- Pending staff availability, deliver Skills Builder sessions.
- Support swimming sessions, bringing swimwear and a spare t-shirt.
