The Pricing Science team is responsible for developing and maintaining the tools used by the price modeling teams. As a Data Scientist, you will be a key member of this team, working closely with data scientists and engineers to develop new techniques and approaches to improve the performance and efficiency of our machine learning models.

You will be responsible for developing a strong understanding of how we price Motor and Home insurance products, identifying areas for improvement, and introducing new research and development projects to enhance our pricing capabilities.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our pricing models and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Pricing Team to identify business problems and recommend solutions.
  • Adapt and work with our current tools and developments, primarily based on R and Python.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to maintain existing tools and platforms.
  • Work with other data scientists to develop and implement new pricing models.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Programming skills in Python or R (or both) and their relevant data science and statistics libraries.
  • Knowledge of data manipulation, machine learning, advanced analytics, and statistical techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and present ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to produce high-quality outputs.
  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline, such as mathematics, computer science, or statistics (advantageous).
  • Experience in insurance or other financial services (advantageous).
