As a vital representative of Royal Mail, you will be engaged in various tasks that ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional service to our customers. Your role will involve operating from multiple locations, working collaboratively with your team to uphold the high standards expected from our esteemed organization.

Role Overview

As a member of our driving team, you will serve as the public face of Royal Mail, playing an integral role within the community. Your primary responsibilities will include driving to collect bulk mail from significant clients and Post Offices, as well as transporting mail between our Mail Centres and Delivery offices at scheduled times. Additionally, you will be responsible for loading and unloading your vehicle and sorting mail for accurate onward distribution.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic and self-driven. You should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, and enjoy interacting with various individuals throughout your rounds. A strong sense of community is essential, and you should be open to flexible shift patterns. The role requires outdoor work in all weather conditions, so a passion for staying active is beneficial. Previous experience in a customer-facing position is preferred.

Driving Qualifications

A valid UK manual driving licence is mandatory, with fewer than 6 penalty points preferred, ideally a clean record. You will need to present this during the assessment process. Additionally, you must possess a Periodic Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and hold a valid Drivers Qualification Card (DQC) with 35 hours of training. A Digital Tachograph Card will also be required if selected for assessment.

Compensation and Benefits

Employees will receive weekly pay, with potential increments at 6 and 12 months based on satisfactory performance.

Starting Salary: £602.60 per week pro rata, plus overtime and shift allowances.
