This role offers a remarkable opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled and experienced group of professionals.
The selected candidate will operate independently and must demonstrate clinical proficiency and competence.
Candidates should possess a robust theoretical foundation and practical experience in Neurosciences, be clinically adept in conducting examinations, and hold qualifications as a non-medical prescriber.
A progression opportunity from Band 6 to Band 7 will be available upon successful completion of necessary training and competencies.
The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional communication abilities, a proactive mindset, and a strong commitment to advancing service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering high-quality and safe services to patients across the Cheshire and Merseyside region, including involvement in services provided in North Wales.
The Clinical Nurse Expert will offer expert professional guidance, support, and advice to patients, caregivers, and relevant healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities will also include serving as a primary contact for expert medication management for patients with Multiple Sclerosis.
The role involves contributing to the continuity of patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, as well as in community environments.
The Clinical Nurse Expert will work autonomously, utilizing advanced health assessments, decision-making skills, and diagnostic reasoning.
Additionally, the Clinical Nurse Expert will conduct telephone advice clinics.
Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team is essential, integrating with all relevant specialties and personnel.
The Nurse Expert will be accountable for establishing patient and caregiver interventions and developing services tailored to their needs in close collaboration with the Lead Consultant.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications
- Current NMC Registration
- First-level Degree relevant to clinical specialty
- Portfolio demonstrating experience in Long Term Neurological Conditions
- Proven experience in at least one specialty area, such as Parkinson's, epilepsy, MS, or MND
- Willingness to pursue a master's level qualification and non-medical prescribing
- Successful completion of a Neuroscience Module
Desirable Qualifications
- Post-basic qualification in leadership and/or management
- Teaching qualification
