About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Gardener to join our team at Crowne Plaza Reading. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel's outdoor spaces, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with general garden maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and fertilizing grasses and green spaces.
  • Turn over soil regularly to install and maintain seasonal plants.
  • Mulch, edge, and weed gardens to maintain their appearance.
  • Maintain trees, bushes, and hedges by pruning and trimming.
  • Monitor and maintain the health of indoor and outdoor plants.
  • Clear leaves regularly to ensure the hotel entrance is clean and tidy.
  • Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter.
  • Assist colleagues and other members of staff to create a teamwork and quality service through communication.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, have a positive 'can do' attitude, be willing to learn, and show that you care.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant experience in property maintenance or building trades.
  • Excellent relationship building and rapport building skills.
  • Experience as a Gardener.
  • A love of the outdoor and indoor plant life.
  • Familiarity with landscaping design.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations for landscaping.
  • Knowledge of regional plant life.
  • The ability to lift heavy objects.
  • The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time.
