Job Summary:
The Class 2 Day Driver position at Gregory Distribution involves making multi-drop palletised deliveries and collections to and from businesses and private addresses around the South West. This role requires a high level of organisation and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication skills to work closely with the network hubs and transport team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading of vehicle, ensuring load security.
- Planning route on a day-to-day basis.
- Complete daily vehicle checks on company phone.
- Working closely with the network hubs.
- Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing customer expectations.
- Attending regular training sessions.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have a UK Class 2 (C) Driving Licence.
- Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Working to deadlines.
- Confident, polite, and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
Benefits and Perks:
- Salary for Class 2 Day Driver is between £33,347pa - £38,209pa and more, depending on hours worked.
- Hours of work are Monday – Friday, 48 hours per week, starting at 07:30hrs.
- Saturday working will be required every 1 in 8.
