Role Responsibilities
The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for:
- Conducting inspections of precision components manufactured in-house, as well as those sourced from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Developing and executing CMM programs using PC-DMIS for both new and existing components.
- Creating and updating CMM setup and operational instructions for new and revised programs.
- Performing first-off inspections and first article inspection (FAI) reporting for both single-level parts and multi-level assemblies.
- Maintaining and updating documentation related to inspection procedures.
- Collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers as necessary.
- Conducting source inspections at supplier locations.
- Performing patrol inspections in manufacturing areas.
- Issuing Non-conformance Reports (NCRs) and dimensional reports.
- Carrying out calibration duties for mechanical and electrical equipment, including managing quotations and purchase orders, with full training provided.
Required Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A recognized qualification in Mechanical Engineering along with relevant experience in mechanical inspection.
- Familiarity with various inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Solid understanding and experience with ISO 9001:2001 standards, and ideally AS9100 Rev D.
- Background in mechanical manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances, including geometric tolerancing.
- Experience in CMM programming and operation, preferably with PC-DMIS software.
