Job Title: Pre-Construction Manager for Data Centres

We're seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our team at Mech Electrics Limited, working on high-profile data centre projects for global tech giants. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for leading the pre-construction phase of data centre projects, overseeing estimation, budgeting, and delivery strategies.

The Role

As a Pre-Construction Manager, you'll be the linchpin between the client and the project team, handling everything from budgeting and estimation to risk management and technical oversight. You'll work closely with teams across estimating, work-winning, and project management to ensure the smooth progression of each project.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the pre-construction phase of data centre projects, ensuring accurate estimation and budgeting.
  2. Providing technical leadership across all aspects of the project, ensuring risk management and reporting are handled effectively.
  3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery meets client expectations.
  4. Traveling to client offices and project sites as needed to ensure a high level of service.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  1. A minimum of 7 years' experience in a Pre-Construction Manager role or similar, with a background in MEP and data centre construction.
  2. Proven experience working on major projects, ideally within the data centre or critical systems environment.
  3. In-depth knowledge of cooling technologies, power systems, and energy-efficient solutions for large-scale data centres.
  4. Leadership skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams and keep projects on track.
  5. A personable approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and thrive in client-facing roles.
  6. Flexibility for UK and European travel as needed, ensuring strong client engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
