About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Learning Tutor, working with adults to develop their skills and knowledge. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans for your subject area, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Keep accurate records and assess work effectively, providing constructive feedback to learners.
- Collaborate with our Community Learning Development Workers to participate in ongoing professional development, including training sessions and support meetings.
- Employ a range of teaching methods and behaviour management strategies to maximize learning and engagement.
- Provide guidance and support to learners, signposting them to additional resources as needed.
Requirements
- You must have GCSEs (Grade A – C or 5 – 9) in English and Maths, or equivalent qualification.
- A recognized teaching qualification at Level 3 or above, or willingness to complete this within 12 months.
- Relevant experience in tutoring, training, or teaching, including producing schemes of work and lesson plans for target learners.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
- Willingness to travel to other areas of South Gloucestershire.
- Enthusiasm for delivering courses in areas such as IT and digital skills, Functional Skills English or Maths, and Family Learning.
