Job Opportunity for Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at a specialist nursing home in Daventry, Northamptonshire. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care and leadership to our service users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer the Mental Health Act and Clinical Policy, ensuring compliance and excellence in clinical practice.
  • Manage and evaluate the medical service, ensuring research-based and high-standard clinical policy and practice.
  • Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to facilitate service users' journeys back into the community.
  • Chair ward MDT meetings and ensure effective working of the Care Programme Approach.
  • Assess referrals and ensure the service meets the needs of those admitted.
  • Contribute to staff training, education, and development, and participate in Clinical Governance.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Innovative and imaginative, with the ability to initiate corporate decisions.
  • Ability to affect change professionally and organisationally.
  • Understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health.
  • Knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and contemporary cases in mental and physical health.
