About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Building Surveyor to take on a Senior Project Manager role within our team at Access Talent Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering multi-disciplinary projects from concept to completion, working collaboratively with our clients and stakeholders to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Ensure the successful delivery of projects to agreed targets, including programme, budget, and quality.
  • Project Strategy: Identify and agree project objectives with the Project Director and develop a strategy for achieving these objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify, escalate, and manage any matters that could pose a potential contractual or commercial risk to the Project Director.
  • Commercial Management: Utilize commercial manager support to obtain a clear understanding of contractual obligations and negotiate amendments.
  • Team Leadership: Set objectives, define tasks for the project team, delegate authority, and agree how risks will be shared as necessary.
  • Project Monitoring: Actively manage the project, both technically and financially, in accordance with corporate and business policies, directives, guidance, and procedures.
  • Team Development: Lead the project team, building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding, and developing the team.
  • Project Closure: Assemble and own the project delivery programme and delivery plans, provide project reports, and close out the project on completion.
Requirements
  • Chartered Surveyor: Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent with demonstrable experience managing design commissions on large building/infrastructure projects.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities.
  • Contract Management: Understands and has experience in deploying various forms of construction contract, in particular NEC3 and JCT.
  • Project Management: Experienced at preparing Scope Definition papers, Project Execution Plans, Risk Registers, Change Control Logs, and Client & Stakeholder Management plans.
  • Design Management: Experience of managing design projects to time, cost, and quality objectives and familiar with programming and earned value techniques.
  • BIM: Familiar with BIM and has an understanding of 3D modelling tools for design and coordination purposes.
  • Client Relationship Management: Customer-focused with excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Mentoring: A supportive and encouraging approach to mentoring less experienced members of the team.
  • Travel: Be available to travel across the UK and work away from home, when required. Holds a valid UK driving licence.
