This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious and motivated Solicitors looking to contribute to a successful and well-established criminal defence department.

About the Role
  • Conduct client interviews to gather instructions on criminal allegations
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on points of law and practice
  • Represent clients at police stations, offering essential support and advice
  • Appear in Magistrates' Court to advocate for clients effectively
  • Handle Crown Court litigation and instruct Counsel when necessary
  • Draft comprehensive legal documents and correspondence
  • Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to ensure optimal client outcomes
About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 0-5 years PQE, although more experienced candidates with up to 10 years PQE will also be considered.
  • Duty Solicitor Status. The firm is committed to supporting those who are not yet duty qualified.
  • Police Station Accreditation Status
  • Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing and preparing legal documentation
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative legal team environment
  • Excellent IT skills and proficiency in relevant legal software
  • Strong time management abilities and the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • A commitment to providing first-class client care and building strong relationships with clients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
