This is an opportunity to make a substantial impact, as the company seeks to appoint a Head of E-Commerce to its Senior Leadership Team.

Position Overview

As the Head of E-Commerce, you will be responsible for managing and expanding a dynamic business unit identified as a high-growth area within the organization. In this leadership role, you will bring a start-up mentality, consumer insights, and digital proficiency. You will be a resourceful innovator, adept at navigating the complexities of a rapidly evolving market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the E-Commerce channel, including the identification of new trading opportunities.
  • Establish and continuously refine the vision, strategy, and operational frameworks for E-Commerce.
  • Lead the E-Commerce initiatives, monitor channel performance, and execute the trade and customer development plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to actualize the E-Commerce vision and strategy, maximizing commercial prospects.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of operational needs, establish effective processes, and leverage insights for data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage the contact matrix across the organization to deliver exceptional service and support.
  • Enhance performance understanding of E-Commerce channels and provide executive-level reporting.
  • Build relationships with external trade and industry organizations relevant to the business area.
  • Share pertinent commercial and consumer insights to enhance the capabilities of key stakeholders and drive growth across digital channels.
  • Directly manage and motivate a large team.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will currently hold a senior E-Commerce role within a major FMCG or consumer products organization. You should possess a solid understanding and experience in direct-to-consumer E-Commerce and digital retail platforms, preferably within a creatively driven environment. The role demands a proactive mindset coupled with a creative approach to solution-oriented thinking within a matrix corporate structure.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration to establish coherent operational practices that deliver superior user and consumer experiences.
  • Proven track record in leading the full contract lifecycle across multiple accounts.
  • A strong history of successfully enhancing online sales performance, adhering to budgetary constraints and long-term strategies, ideally through a matrix team.
  • An exceptional leader, skilled in developing and maintaining key internal and external relationships, performance management, and talent development.
