Job Overview

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering company as a skilled mechanic. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the fleet of vehicles is in good condition and meets all relevant safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used within defined quality standards.
  • Carry out vehicle servicing in accordance with central engineering SOPs, accurately recording job times for the repair action.
  • Ensure parts are replaced under warranty and all parts are booked out from stores and recorded accurately.
  • Perform and record routine vehicle examinations ensuring vehicles meet VOSA testing requirements.
  • Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries, perform vehicle road tests, identifying any defects and managing any repairs.

Requirements

  • NVQ level 3/City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent knowledge of overhauling and repair of vehicle systems, including engines, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, drive trains, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, braking systems, steering systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, and auto electrics.
