Our client, located in Thames Valley Park, has an ongoing requirement for temporary Video Game Quality Assurance Specialists to ensure that video games meet the necessary standards for release.
We aim to expand our pool of temporary staff available for this role. This is an entirely office-based position. Much of the client's work is confidential and must be conducted in a secure testing environment.The office is equipped with various amenities, including an on-site cafeteria, free parking, and a shuttle service from the town center.
The workload is variable, so there are no guaranteed shifts associated with this assignment. Candidates must reside within a 1-hour commute of the office to accommodate last-minute changes.Shifts are offered with one day's notice, and their frequency will vary week-to-week and month-to-month. However, if you perform well in the role, it is possible to be requested on a regular basis.
As our client operates 7 days a week, a successful candidate must be available to work both weekends and weekdays, although please note that the cafeteria and shuttle service do not operate on weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Following testing protocols and investigating issues.
Documenting findings and communicating test results.
Reporting issues to your team lead.
Assisting the broader team.
Candidate Profile:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and organizational abilities.
Capacity to collaborate within a team with a positive, proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
Proficiency in computer usage and IT skills, particularly in MS Excel.
Flexibility regarding shift availability.
A genuine interest in video games and game development is essential for this role, although prior experience in games/software testing is not mandatory.
Essential Requirements:
Must be over 18 due to age-rating restrictions of the products tested.
Must be available to work weekends (at least occasionally).
Must have experience playing video games and operating both recent-generation gaming consoles and computers. This knowledge is crucial for the role.
Must reside within a 1-hour commute of Thames Valley Park.
Access to a dual-analog stick controller is required as part of the recruitment process.
You can borrow one from a friend if you do not own one, but we will need to witness you using it during a video call before we can add you to the pool.
Important Note:
If successful, you will be added to a pool of temporary staff who are assigned to this role one day at a time rather than being placed into a specific long-term or short-term assignment.
You will not be required to accept any offered shifts, but you are not guaranteed to be offered any either.
Shifts will be offered to you as and when available in line with the availability you share, your current level of training, and performance feedback.
We cannot endorse relocating for this role due to the inconsistent nature of shifts.If you currently live more than 1 hour from Thames Valley Park but are intending to move closer for a different reason, please state this clearly in your application.
