We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to take on the role of a Grounds Person.

About Southwell Racecourse

Located in the charming town of Southwell, this venue is one of the few all-weather racecourses in the UK, boasting a distinctive character and a vibrant atmosphere. With a transition to a Tapeta surface in 2021, Southwell continues to host numerous racing events throughout the year, making it a hub for equestrian sports.

In addition to horse racing, Southwell Racecourse is home to a renowned golf club, featuring two unique nine-hole courses, including the signature 7th hole with its picturesque island green.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep of a high-quality racing surface throughout the year. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the maintenance of outdoor areas to uphold exceptional presentation standards.
• Supporting the upkeep of estate buildings and equipment, while also contributing to the operational needs during events.
• Working under the guidance of the Clerk of the Course to implement a comprehensive maintenance program, which may involve physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Preparing the racing course, including the setup and restoration before, during, and after events, utilizing tractors and specialized maintenance equipment.
• Employing various gardening and agricultural tools, machinery, and chemicals in the execution of duties.
• Adhering to all safety regulations and company policies regarding health and safety practices.

Working Conditions

This role may require working outside of standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
