Position Overview
The role involves serving as a specialized clinical podiatrist, delivering exceptional podiatric care aimed at preserving mobility, ensuring tissue health, and alleviating discomfort.
Provide top-tier podiatric services to patients with diverse healthcare requirements, in both acute and community environments.
The incumbent will manage a caseload that includes clinical interventions for high-risk patients, focusing on maintaining mobility, independence, tissue integrity, and pain relief.
The successful candidate will collaborate with podiatry assistants, fellow podiatrists, and student practitioners, functioning as a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, offering expert guidance to patients, caregivers, general practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
Engagement in health education and promotion is expected, including participation in training sessions grounded in best practices, with a strong emphasis on knowledge and skills in diabetes management, wound care, and biomechanics.
The individual will be an integral part of the Podiatry team, adhering to departmental and organizational policies, strategies, and objectives, while actively contributing to their advancement.
Key Responsibilities
This position is designated for a proficient podiatrist who will operate within musculoskeletal (MSK) podiatry and high-risk routine care. Responsibilities will include managing clinics that address complex wounds and care planning. The role will also encompass supervising junior staff members and engaging in research initiatives.

Qualifications
Essential
- BSc in Podiatry with local anaesthesia/POMs certification
- Valid Driving Licence
- HCPC Registration
Desirable
- Evidence of postgraduate specialist training/qualification (in progress)
Experience
Essential
- Conducts clinical audits relevant to their work and regularly engages in research and development
- Understanding of confidentiality protocols
- Knowledge and experience in a healthcare setting
- Coordination and sensory skills for the use of fine tools, scalpels, nail surgery, and the creation of complex orthoses
- Ability to work in restricted positions for extended periods to deliver clinical care; capable of frequent light to moderate physical effort
- May require carrying equipment
- Proficient in computer and keyboard usage
- Responsible for ordering supplies for their specialty and coordinating with the team leader for effective stock management
- Ability to make informed decisions on complex clinical podiatric issues requiring investigation, analysis, and assessment
- Willingness to work in challenging conditions, including dealing with unkempt feet, ulcers, infected wounds, and bodily fluids
