Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our production team in Cambridge. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a pivotal part in high-profile military projects, dealing with the production of both vehicles and containers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manufacturing and Assembly: To manufacture, assemble, and build specialist projects using engineering drawings and associated design data to meet business and customer expectations.
  2. Support to Production Managers and Team Leaders: To support the Production Managers and Team Leaders, ensuring that all Marshall Land Systems projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standard.
  3. Task Management: To ensure all tasks are carried out within the allocated time.
  4. Configuration Control: To understand and work to configuration control processes.
  5. Production Processes: To ensure production processes and procedures are maintained.
  6. Health and Safety: To follow and work in line with Health and Safety management systems.
  7. Continuous Improvement: To take an active role in continuous improvements, to include lean and 5s procedures.
  8. Work Area Maintenance: To ensure a clean compliant work area is maintained at all times.
  9. Equipment and Tooling: To ensure equipment and tooling required is identified to the line manager.
  10. Meetings and Timesheets: To attend and support production meetings if required and completion of daily timesheets.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Mechanical, fitting, or joining experience.
  2. Previous experience within automotive or heavy industry highly desirable.
  3. Any prior experience in Vehicle Body Building, Mechanical Fitting, or equivalent trade highly beneficial.
  4. Understanding and experience in Assembly processes and techniques.
  5. Competent skills gained through training and experience and ability to communicate within team.
  6. Familiar with a workshop environment.
  7. Understanding of Production methods and processes.
  8. Competent understanding and ability to read engineering drawings and associated design data.
  9. Understand planning methods and skills.
  10. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Ideally completed a City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent in Vehicle Body Building, Mechanical Fitting, Manufacturing, and Assembly Qualification or comprehensive on-the-job experience.
  2. Understanding of Appraisals/PDR's.
  3. Semi-Skilled candidates with manufacturing/production experience will be considered.
