About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with a forward-thinking local authority, driving inclusive and sustainable growth in the South East. You will be responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders, including government and partner organizations, to promote the interests of our borough.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on public affairs and stakeholder relations to our leader and cabinet members
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government and partner organizations
  • Develop and implement a detailed forward plan of communications activity
  • Coordinate stakeholder maps and tracking opportunities for influence
  • Work closely with our Communications team and other key council officers

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Public Affairs Specialist with a background in giving specialist advice to senior politicians. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. You will also have a deep understanding of public affairs and stakeholder relations, with the ability to develop and implement effective communications strategies.
