Job Title: Mental Health Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate to join our team as a Mental Health Assistant at a specialist school for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs in Oxford.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychology Graduate to work alongside trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists to support children with behaviour and mental health issues. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff to provide individualized support to students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional and social support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery to meet the needs of students with complex needs
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Support students with behaviour and mental health issues
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:

We are looking for a Graduate with a degree in Psychology or a related field who is passionate about working with children with SEMH needs. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Experience working with children with complex needs is desirable but not essential.
