Cardiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of non-invasive examinations, including ECG, stress testing, and Holter monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Explain procedures to prepare patients for testing, such as ECG, stress testing, Holter monitoring, pacemaker monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
- Perform a range of diagnostic tests, including ECG, stress testing, and Holter monitoring, by attaching electrodes to the patient, operating equipment, and analyzing and recording relevant data for interpretation by cardiologists and/or internists.
- Monitor patients and scan test strips during cardiograms and stress tests, taking appropriate action upon recognition of cardiac arrhythmias or other abnormalities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Scan and analyze ECG, stress, Holter, and event monitor, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring test strips, selecting and assessing appropriate portions of test strips and summarizing for interpretation by medical staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Transfer and assign ECGs in ECG Cardiology Management systems for interpretation by medical staff.
- Demonstrate ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment as required.
- Maintain statistics and files completed reports.
- Participate in Quality Management and/or Quality Assurance programs by providing information and input to Manager (or designate).
- Participate in the instruction/orientation of staff and/or students by assisting with departmental orientations, in-service presentations, demonstrating procedures, and answering questions as required.
- Maintain and update own clinical knowledge within area of practice.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
