Job Summary

The Management Accountant Trainee will be responsible for delivering accurate and consistent management reporting information to meet the needs of the business. This will involve monitoring financial performance, providing independent and robust financial challenge, and reconciling financial reports to source ledgers to ensure integrity of the data provided.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver accurate and consistent management reporting information to meet the needs of the business.
  2. Monitor financial performance and provide independent and robust financial challenge.
  3. Reconcile financial reports to source ledgers to ensure integrity of the data provided.
  4. Initiate continual review and improvement of processes and procedures to ensure that financial control requirements of the business are met.
  5. Resolve problems to ensure management reporting timescales are met.
  6. Provide financial support to resolve highly complex issues.
  7. Take responsibility for decisions which will have a significant impact on business performance.
  8. Prepare and process any ad hoc/correction journals that are required from the business.
Requirements
  1. Understand and apply Finance Policy Manual (FPM) Accounting Policies.
  2. Understand and support delivery of Finance Control Framework (FCF) compliance.
  3. Understand and ensure Audit Compliance.
  4. Develop a good working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Adaptive (Office Connect) and Cognos (Cognos Café).
  5. Understand the end-to-end Cost accounting processes and key controls.
  6. Continually drive your personal development training plan.
  7. Team player with a flexible approach that allows for working with others across the Function.
  8. A willingness to seek process performance improvement.
