Position Overview:

We are seeking Support Assistants to become part of our team on a full-time basis. This role will initially be temporary through our trusted recruitment partner, with the potential for a permanent position.

Our specialized SEMH institution is dedicated to providing customized support for students with varied needs. We strive to create a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that emphasizes holistic development. Our devoted staff are focused on empowering students and cultivating a positive educational experience.

Our students, aged 11-16, have previously faced exclusion from mainstream education. We offer a tailored curriculum, including GCSE options for those capable of studying at this level. The small class sizes allow for additional support, enabling students to achieve their maximum potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one and small group assistance to students with SEMH needs.
  • Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management techniques.
  • Support students in engaging with the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
  • Encourage a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to effectively address student needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or young individuals with SEMH needs is preferred.
  • A valid visa to work in the UK is required.
  • Strong comprehension of SEMH and its effects on learning and behavior.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse requirements.
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
