Job Summary

The successful candidate will be a key team leader within Latham House Medical Practice, responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to the Practice population. They will work autonomously, demonstrating strong professional decision-making skills and clinical expertise.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to the nursing team to ensure the effective and efficient provision of primary healthcare services.
  • Work collaboratively with the whole practice team to ensure that the care delivered to the Practice population is relevant, responsive, of the highest standard, and clinically effective and efficient.
  • Contribute to improving quality standards and ensure compliance with CQC standards.
  • Support public health campaigns and provide specialist knowledge on all public health programs available to the general public.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and other healthcare professionals, considering differences in language, literacy, and culture.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Good organisational skills, able to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, Word, Excel, SystmOne, and/or other clinical software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS Certification and legal right to work in the UK.
  • Hep B/MMR vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated.
  • Knowledge of national standards that inform practice, such as QOF, NICE guidelines, etc.
  • Experience of wound care, acute and non-acute, and knowledge of dressing types and rational for selection in line with the local dressing formulary.
  • Understanding of effective team working, evidence-based practice, and infection prevention and control measures in clinical practice.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Understanding of anticoagulation/warfarin monitoring.
  • Understanding of systems to gain insight into the health needs of the practice population as they relate to Primary Care.
  • Cervical Cytology updated within the last 3 years (registered).
  • Independent Nurse Prescriber Qualification.
  • Accredited qualification in Family Planning and Sexual Health.
  • Accredited qualification in Diabetes Care.
  • Accredited qualification in Asthma/COPD.
