Job Title: Qualified General Cover Teacher

Location: Portsmouth

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible General Cover Teacher to join our team in Portsmouth, working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver engaging lessons across a variety of subjects to students in an SEMH school setting, ensuring all students are included and supported.
  2. Manage classroom behaviour and implement effective strategies to engage students with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  3. Work closely with support staff and other teachers to meet the individual needs of students.
  4. Provide emotional and pastoral support to students, helping to create a positive and safe learning environment.
  5. Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback to school staff.
Requirements:
  1. QTS or relevant teaching qualification.
  2. Previous teaching experience or experience working with students with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  3. Strong classroom management skills and a resilient attitude.
  4. A flexible and adaptable approach, able to cover a range of subjects and work with diverse groups of students.
  5. A passion for supporting students with additional needs to reach their full potential.
  6. Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
